This might interest a few people on my flist...
Why, yes, [info]mermaidrain, I'm looking at you.

CatsCurious Press is looking for 5,000-10,000 word retold fairy tales. The catch is that the entire thing must be in the protagonist's POV--and it has to be funny.

And then, Jim C. Hines will take that story, and write a counterpoint to it.

Not only that, but the winner gets paid pro rates. And you have ages and ages to write it; they're not taking subs until January, and will continue to take them through the end of March.

Ooh, sweet. I might have to look into that too, considering how many "Ooh, I want to retell this!" ideas I've had. 'Course lots of them aren't fairy tales (like, one thing I'm working on started as a sci-fi retelling of Oliver Twist, and last year--although I haven't written it yet--I decided I wanted to retell The Nutcracker), but I'm sure I could think of something.
