  • Thu, 14:01: OH GOD THIS WORDCOUNT. 1800 words in, 6K cap, and I'm barely at the end of the 1st plot turn. AUGH. #amwriting
  • Thu, 16:19: I have reached my first pinch point! The word count is going to be ridiculous. Less "fish out of water," more Plot. #amwriting
  • Thu, 16:58: Wow, the Royal Bank of Scotland has terrible grammar. And why are they using a domain from Moldova? #spam
  • Thu, 20:08: Dear Self-Pubbed Authors: If you want to look professional and have people actually pay for your words? LEARN BASIC GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION.
  • Thu, 20:14: If there's a punctuation error on the first LINE, and the rest of the first page doesn't make me think that's a one-off, I close the tab.
  • Fri, 01:54: Just cracked 3100 words and the first pinch. This might actually be on point for wordcount. *crosses fingers*
  • Fri, 11:23: TWO rejections in my inbox this morning. Augh. So demotivating. Still have to write, tho. Deadlines wait for no one.
  • Fri, 11:59: Rejected stories are flipped. Now, #amwriting with a loudly purring cat in my lap.

So, Scrivener (the writing software) is on sale for half price.

At Amazon. My Writing Buddy told me about this a few weeks ago, but I balked at the $40 pricetag for something I wasn't sure I'd use. However, I've heard good things about it and know people who swear by it, so I dropped $20 on it today and will use it to write my Next Thing (whatever that is--I'm thinking the story for the Fearful Symmetries antho).

In other news, I've nearly cracked 3500 words in the Unicorn Time Travel story and am right at the midpoint. I'm going to madly scribble today and tomorrow while Boy is at rocket camp, and hopefully have an END at the bottom by the time I meet with my Writing Buddy on Sunday.

I just hope I can keep this thing crammed within 6000 words. At this point, I'm not sure. There's still a lot of Plot that needs to happen.

And, in the meantime, I still need six more outlines and one more story by the end of May.
